The only UK branch of a Spanish jewellery brand is to close in just days, a move described as a “difficult decision”. Miramira will launch a clearance sale at its Norfolk store, which was opened in 2024, to last until the final day of trading, on March 28.
Items will be discounted by up to 50% at the high street store in King’s Lynn to help clear stock before it shuts forever. Owners of the store, Darren and Catherine Mooney, said: “After much thought, we have made the difficult decision to close our store. This hasn’t been an easy choice, but we are so incredibly grateful for the support, loyalty and kindness our customers have shown us during our time here.”
They continued in a post on Facebook: “Being part of this community has meant more than we can say. To everyone who has shopped with us, shared our posts, recommended us, or simply popped in for a browse — thank you.”
This store was opened in December 2024 by husband and wife Darren and Catherine Mooney as the company’s first UK franchise. The owners did not reveal the reason behind the closure.
The brand specialises in 14k gold stainless steel necklaces, rings and earrings, and disappointed customers expressed their sadness online.
One shared: “So sad to read this – you were mine and my daughter’s fav – are we able to buy online?”
The retailers confirmed they have never operated an online store because they are a franchise, and added that once they close at the end of March, all stock will be gone.

A second said they were “gutted” about the closure, having only been able to find the jewellers abroad, in Tenerife and Lanzarote.
Several other stores in Norfolk appear to be at risk as well. Fashion retailer Quiz is currently advertising discounts at its Norwich store, reports the Eastern Daily Press, after the chain fell into administration in February. Administrators Interpath previously said 40 UK stores would continue to trade while the brand considers its options.
River Island in Chantry Place will shut on April 11, as part of a wider campaign of closures, while closing-down signs have reportedly been hung in the windows of Claire’s Accessories in Norwich’s Castle Quarter and Chantry Place.
