King Charles gave a surprising reaction to the cameras while attending Sunday service at St Mary Magdalene, the parish church at Sandringham, alongside Queen Camilla. Dressed in a long beige coat, and holding onto an umbrella, Charles was dressed snug and warm for the cold weather.
Queen Camilla matched in a long brown coat and beige hat with a fur trim. She also wore knee-high boots and leather gloves and carried a leather handbag. Upon noting the cameras, King Charles, 77, and Camilla, 78, turned, and gave a smile and wave for the cameras as Charles shook hands with Reverend Canon Paul Williams.
The church attendance was the second public appearance for King Charles this weekend as he made a surprise outing to the Sandringham parkrun on Saturday.
The run takes place every Saturday, but on the last Saturday of the month, the run is in partnership with the Move Against Cancer Charity’s ‘5K Your Way’ group.
The monarch’s second parkrun visit fell ahead of World Cancer Day on February 4, a poignant day for Charles considering his own cancer battle.
The King’s busy weekend comes after a hectic week as he was hosting the premiere of his film ‘Finding Harmony’ set for release on Amazon Prime on February 6.
The King has always been passionate about issues such as the environment, climate change and sustainability – which means meeting human needs without harming the planet and its resources for the future.
The 90-minute film is a collaboration with the King’s charity, The King’s Foundation. It looks at his many years of campaigning to protect the planet and the natural world.
