King Charles’s 76th birthday marked with special photo by Palace | Royal | News

Buckingham Palace has issued a special birthday tribute for King Charles as he celebrates his 76th birthday today.

To mark the special occasion, the Palace shared a portrait of the King who is dressed in a navy blue pinstripe suit and azure patterned tie, smiling at the camera, and posing in the throne room.

The caption accompanied by the photo reads: “Wishing His Majesty The King a very Happy Birthday today.”

The picture shared by the Palace was first released in April 2023 in honour of the King’s Coronation which took place the following month, on May 6, 2023.

The King has decided to mark his birthday by opening two food distribution hubs. The opening of the centres will also mark the first anniversary of his Coronation Food Project, an initiative he launched on his milestone birthday last year to help combat food insecurity and food waste.

First, King Charles will formally open the first Coronation Food Hub in Deptford, southeast London, and virtually open the second hub in Merseyside.

The hubs are major distribution centres, designed to save and circulate tonnes of surplus food. They aim to transform the ability of charities like FareShare and the Felix Project to support communities in need.

During his visit on November 14, Charles will tour the new facility, meet beneficiaries and representatives of food banks, schools and community groups as the host a ‘surplus food festival’ with meals created from food that would have otherwise gone to waste.
