Laura Woods’ fiance, Love Island star Adam Collard, has provided an update after the ITV host collapsed live while covering England Lionesses for the broadcaster. Woods was caught by pundits Ian Wright and Anita Asanta, at which point the coverage cut to an advert break.
The presenter, 38, fell to the floor at St Mary’s stadium in Southampton ahead of England Women’s clash against Ghana. Adam, 30, penned a reassuring message to supporters, stating simply: “Laura is all OK and with the right people. Thank you for all of your kind messages” before signing off with a white heart emoji.
When coverage resumed, ITV colleague Katie Shanahan had taken Woods’ place and confirmed that the host had been “taken ill” and was being taken care of by medics.
“As you have probably noticed, we don’t have the wonderful Laura Woods because she’s just been taken ill, but she’s in very good hands so I’m stepping in at late notice,” said Shanahan.
ITV are yet to provide an official update.
Woods had only returned to broadcasting duties this year, on TNT Sports, having spent 13 weeks absent due to maternity leave. She gave birth to her son in January of this year.
Collard, who has appeared in various editions of Love Island, confirmed the birth of baby Leo on Instagram. He wrote: “Leo Ernie Collard, our boy.”
He also shared pictures of their new child with their family, Laura in hospital and meeting a dog in a gallery of images to social media.
The engaged couple have been dating since 2023, after Adam came out of the Love Island villa for a second time. He proposed in September 2024, with Adam popping the question on a beach in St Ives, Cornwall.
Woods is a fan-favourite presenter who has split her duties with ITV and TNT, having left talkSPORT and previously hosted the World Darts Championship for Sky Sports.
