Lloyds Bank is set to close 14 branches in the UK next month as banks continue to exit high streets. The lender is expected to close the doors on premises at locations including Manchester and Peterlee in County Durham in a few weeks’ time.

In total, 142 Lloyds branches will have closed over a two year period by the end of 2026, according to MoneySavingExpert. The bank will have 610 branches left once the closures are complete. Lloyds has said it offers a range of alternatives for customers to manage their money, including online via its app.

More than 300 branches of Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland, were being closed by Lloyds Banking Group, which has 26 million customers.

Brits who want face-to-face banking could try another branch nearby if there is one or find out if there’s a banking hub not far away.

These are places where people who bank with different lenders can withdraw cash, pay in deposits, find support and manage their accounts.

It is also possible to take money out or pay it in via the Post Office.

Some might want to consider switching to a provider who does have a branch where they live – though there’s the risk that outlet might shut one day too.
