National Highways has revealed a serious collision involving two cars that happened at around 5.30pm today.
All emergency services remain at the scene.
Their statement reads: “The M6 in Cheshire is closed northbound between J21 and J21A near Warrington due to a collision.
“At approx. 17:30 a collision involving 2 cars was reported to Cheshire police.
“Police, Fire, ambulance and National highways resources were dispatched to scene and are now in attendance.
“Delays are likely on approach to the closure and diversion routes.”
