Jessica Mulroney’s ex-husband Ben has shared a major update in the current state of her former friendship with Meghan Markle. The 44-year-old reportedly dumped Jessica as a friend after being caught up in a racism scandal that left the 45-year-old “toxic” on the Toronto social scene.
Although careful not to delve into the topic too much, he appeared to suggest that the two of them are on “positive terms”.
Ben said: “It’s Jess’s story to tell, I wouldn’t speak for her, so if she ever wants to talk about it… From what I understand, they are on positive terms.”
Page Six revealed that the former couple also appear to be on good terms after their split last year.
Ben and Jessica, a stylist, tied the knot in 2008 and share three children. The former couple are parents to twin sons John and Brian – who were born in 2010 – and daughter Ivy – who was born in 2013.
Throughout their friendship, Jessica was reportedly thought to have been the first of Meghan’s friends to find out about her engagement to Prince Harry in 2017.
Despite previously dubbing Meghan her “kindest” friend, Jessica then reportedly changed her tune.
A source told the Daily Mail: “If [Jessica] could go back, a part of her wishes she was never part of [Markle and Prince Harry’s 2018] wedding. While she enjoyed all the exposure it brought her at the time, that same exposure is what caused her social media rift to blow up in the way it did and led to the end of her friendship with Meghan and her marriage.”
All three of Jessica’s children played a major role in Meghan and Harry’s big day in 2018, with daughter acting as a bridesmaid and her sons holding Meghan’s veil.
