A statement from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, reported by the Manchester Evening News, read: “At 6.05pm this evening (Monday 12 January 2026), two fire engines from Manchester Central and Philips Park fire stations, and the Enhanced Rescue Unit from Leigh Community Fire Station, were called to attend a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on Oldham Road, Manchester.

“Crews arrived quickly and worked alongside colleagues from Greater Manchester Police to make the area safe.

“Firefighters were in attendance for approximately 45 minutes.”
