Marks and Spencer will be closing 14 of its in-store cafes in 2026 as part of a store restructuring plan to make room for more products. The M&S café at Barn Road, Congleton, recently closed down to “improve the shopping experience”.
Marks and Spencer’s regional manager Katie Whelan said: “After reviewing our Congleton store, we are re-purposing the café space in-store to provide more product choice and improve the shopping experience. We understand this will be disappointing news for some of our customers; however, our teams will continue working hard to serve them in-store.” M&S cafes offer high-quality food and daily offers for shoppers, including 10% senior discount, a kids’ menu for £4.50, and a free slice of cake for parents in the mornings. The supermarket recently closed its historic Bath store after 93 years, but revealed plans to open 500 new stores across England over the coming years.
