Morrisons is making a checkout change in stores on Fridays this month to give shoppers working in 30 different professions a big discount at the till.
The supermarket chain has partnered with Blue Light Card ahead of Valentine’s Day to give eligible workers 10% off the cost of their shopping every Friday until the end of February. A Blue Light Card is the UK’s leading discount service for people who have jobs in the emergency services, NHS, social care sector, teaching community and the armed forces, and it is accepted in Morrisons stores.
Workers who have a Blue Light Card simply need to redeem a discount code via their app and scan this in Morrisons stores on Friday 13, Friday 20 and Friday 27 February to bag a 10% discount on their big shop.
Cardholders will be able to access a new code via the Blue Light Card app from 7am each Friday this month. The deal is only valid in-store, and shoppers must make a minimum spend of £40 to be eligible for the discount.
Cardholders with access to the offer can save around £18.77 each time, which could add up to £56.31 by the end of the month.
Joe Mathison, Head of Strategic Partnerships, said, “Families across the country are feeling the impact of price hikes, with grocery costs at an all-time high.
“We want to do everything we can to thank the everyday heroes that make up the Blue Light community, so we’re pleased to partner with Morrisons once again to offer key workers extra support this February.
“Savings like this can genuinely make a difference to those on the front line – and it couldn’t be easier to access.”
Workers with jobs in the following professions are all eligible to get a Blue Light Card which can then be used to claim the 10% discount in Morrisons Cafes:
Ambulance Service including retired
Community First Responders
Fire Service including retired
Highways England Traffic Officer
HM Prison & Probation Services
Lowland Search and Rescue
NHS including retired & volunteers
If you work in one of these fields and don’t have a Blue Light Card it costs just £4.99 for two year’s access and you can sign up online.
