Advent calendars aren’t solely for us humans, our furry companions can partake in the festive cheer as well. A dog treat advent calendar transforms the Christmas countdown into a daily delight, adding a sprinkle of excitement to each morning.
With December in full swing, my pooch Callie was more than happy to taste test the Pooch and Mutt Pigs In Blankets Dog Advent Calendar, to let fellow pet parents know how good they are. Naturally, I couldn’t sample the treats myself, but judging by Callie’s eager responses, they must be rather delicious. Gloriously festive, the doggie advent calendar is usually on sale for £9.99, but is currently reduced to £5.99.

Perfect for last minute advent treats, shoppers can save even more using the code XMAS20, taking the price down to just £4.80.
The Pigs in Blankets Dog Advent Calendar boasts 24 doors, each hiding two daily treats. These nibbles are crafted from high-protein pork, which bolsters energy levels and muscle growth, coupled with collagen to enhance skin and coat health.
According to the gurus at Pooch and Mutt, the treats also contain probiotics to aid digestion. A delightful concept for our four-legged friends, the calendar provides a festive means for dogs to savour a daily, seasonally themed snack in the lead-up to Christmas, reports Wales Online.
These grain-free delights cater perfectly to pooches with grain intolerances or those whose owners prefer a more natural diet. Bringing a yuletide flourish to everyday rewards, the pigs in blankets variety promises to be a seasonal hit.
Callie absolutely adored the treats, wolfing them down instantly and pawing at my arm as though pleading “More, please mum!” However, like any excited child at Christmas, she’ll only be allowed to open them day by day.
Personally, I think the Pooch & Mutt Advent Calendar looks lovely – sufficiently festive, with a cheerful picture of a pooch on the front. This is especially handy for me, as it reduces the chance of me confusing it with other offers and accidentally biting into a dog treat instead of a chocolate.

Pooch & Mutt also offer a range of other edible gifts for dogs including the Christmas Pigs in Blankets Meaty Treats, priced at £3.99 per pack. Grain-free, the limited-edition flavour is suitable for all dogs aged 12 weeks and older. For pet parents looking to really splash out, the £14.99 Luxury Christmas Gift Box contains everything needed to give your pup a festive foodie treat.
If the Pooch & Mutt Christmas goodies aren’t quite right, Amazon is selling the SKIPPER’S 2025 Christmas Advent Calendar for Dogs for £12.59. An alternative to meaty treats, it contains white fish cubes, treats and slices.
Elsewhere at Debenhams, the Buddylicious Natural Dog Treats in a pretty collectors tin is on sale for £11.99. The box is filled with a selection of hand-picked natural treats, all wrapped in a beautiful festive themed collector’s gift tin.

My canine companion wasn’t alone in getting excited about the Pooch and Mutt calendar, as shoppers have awarded it an impressive 4.8 out of five stars. One purchaser remarked: “I bought the pigs in blankets advent calendar and although it is not yet sampled it looks delightful – cant wait to see inside!”
Another customer enthused: “My dog Nell hasn’t had any treats out of the advent calendar yet, I’m sure she will love it, I bought one for her last Christmas and she woofed it. Would definitely recommend, super fast delivery.”
A third agreed, adding: “My dog always enjoys the contents of a Pooch and Mutt advent calendars.”
One shopper did raise concerns, however, describing the advent calendar as “disappointing flimsy” and noting it was “dented on arrival”.
Nevertheless, the majority of pet owners and their four-legged friends appear delighted, with another glowing five-star review stating: “My dog absolutely loves it. He licked his lips when I pulled it out of the box.”
The Pigs in Blanket Advent Calendar is presently available for £4.80 at Pooch and Mutt with code XMAS20.
