Prince Harry spotted at a celebrity tattoo parlour in New York City | Royal | News

While in New York City alone for a string of charity endeavours, Prince Harry was spotted at a celebrity tattoo parlour in the city’s Lower East Side.

The Duke of Sussex dropped into East Side Ink on September 25 at 1pm and spent about one hour inside, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

It remains unclear whether Harry came out of the parlour with a tattoo or what kind of tattoo, if any, he opted for.

East Side Ink is one of the city’s oldest tattoo shops which originally opened in 1992 when tattooing was still illegal, as claimed on their website.

Staff, however, have remained tight-lipped about Harry’s recent visit.

The owner of East Side Ink told the Daily Mail: “I couldn’t tell you anything about anyone that stopped by without their permission. We would respect anyone’s privacy in the exact same way.”

He added: “‘A tattoo is a deeply personal choice…. anything that happens here is your private moment.”

When the royal arrived, he pulled up in a black SUV with surrounding members of his security team.

The shop’s owner also said the prince stayed at the shop, where sessions cost up to $350 (£262) an hour, until just after 2pm.

The website also states: “On any given day, you might find your favorite actor or musician getting tattooed right next to neighborhood regulars,’ the website states.”

The tattoo parlour is renowned among celebrities, with Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner all previously getting matching ink there.

Harry was in the Big Apple this week to support various charities and businesses including African Parks, The HALO Trust, The Diana Award, and Travalyst.

The visit forms part of a solo trip to New York and the UK, without his wife, Meghan Markle, and two young children, Prince Archie, five and Princess Lilibet, three.

The prince is due to fly to London this weekend for his annual visit to support WellChild at their awards ceremony, again without his wife.

When Harry first arrived in New York, he was seen at a glitzy dinner, greeting Queen Mathilde of Belgium, actor Forest Whitaker, several UN Agency Heads, and other dignitaries, for an event to honour survivors of childhood violence.

His wife Meghan Markle was noticeably absent from the event – after she also skipped Kevin Costner’s charity concert at his beachfront estate on Saturday night that Harry attended solo.
