Remove fake tan stains from carpet with ‘genius’ £5 hack

A woman has shared a nifty  trick to banish fake tan stains from carpets.

You may be used to finding orange or bronze stains on clothes or bed sheets, but there’s always the possibility that it can be spilt on the carpet while doing some personal grooming.

Alice Bhella, a nurse and mum-of-four known as @alicexmayx on TikTok, regularly shares lifestyle and motherhood content.

Earlier this year she found herself with a bit of a cleaning issue after accidentally spilling her fake tan on the floor.

Spilling the Bondi Sands Aero Self Tanning Foam on her cream carpet, the nurse was left with a pesky brown smudge.

She wrote in the video: “POV: you spill fake tan on a cream carpet but have a plan.”

Instead of using regular cleaning products to banish the fake tan, Alice revealed her product of choice is St Moriz Professional Self Tan Remover Foam, which is traditionally used to remove layers of old fake tan from the skin.

Alice added a generous amount of foam to the stain, leaving it to sink in.

In another shot, the fake stain stain had been removed completely from the carpet.

Alice’s video has been viewed over a massive 440,100 times, racking up 12,400 likes and 26 comments.

Fake tan users praised Alice for her innovative technique, and some even suggested another skincare product which works too.
