Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are continuing to face backlash after the release of their latest Netflix series Polo last month.
The five-part series, released on December 10, listed Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, as executive producers and aimed to give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the elitist sport.
However, the programme instead was heavily criticised by royal fans and Netflix watchers, with some people calling the show “cheesy” and “out of touch”, as reported by Marca. An insider also reportedly said: “Polo is shaping up to be one of the most disliked streaming shows of the year.
“While polo may be close to Harry’s heart, it failed to resonate with viewers, many of whom feel the series highlights how out of touch Harry and Meghan are compared to the average Netflix subscriber struggling to make ends meet.”
The couple also received widespread criticism on X since the series was released. One person said: “Have tried watching Prince Harry and Meghan’s Polo. It’s a mind-numbingly monotonous, dull and dreary disaster. Would be absolutely amazed if they’re allowed to limp onward with Netflix.”
Another commented: “We all knew it would be a total flop!”
The criticism comes after the couple have struggled to win back the affection of the public for years after quitting life as senior royals in 2020.
