Queen Elizabeth II‘s beloved grandson Lord Charles O’Hagan has died aged 79. An inquest has revealed that he died at North Devon Hospital on March 23 after suffering a subdural haematoma.
Lord Charles is known to have formerly served as a Member of European Parliament (MEP) for Devon for two stints from 1973-1975 and from 1979-1994. The late Queen, who died aged 96 in 2022, become his godparent when she was still known as Princess Elizabeth.
Known to have been the 4th Baron O’Hagan, Charles was born in 1945 and lived at Beaford near Winkleigh, Devon. He was a member of the House of Lords from December 1961 until November 1999 when he was excluded.
As well as being her godson, Charles served as a Page Honour to the late Queen Elizabeth between 1959 and 1962.
