Royal shares cryptic message on Instagram condemning recent scandal | Royal | News

Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway appears to condemn her family’s latest scandal in a cryptic message posted to her Instagram account. The 22-year-old, who is currently studying in Australia, spoke out against “personal attacks” and said she was going “crazy”, seen by Norwegian outlet NRK

Ingrid’s half-brother, Marius Borg Høiby, is currently on trial at Oslo District Court. He is currently facing 38 charges, including four counts of rape. Despite sharing the cryptic message to her 800 followers, she said that the message was “not about any issue, not Marius, not mom or dad (Prince Haakon) or (Prince Sverre) Magnus”.

She instead stated that the message was about “personal attacks” that often “apply to us”.

With it unclear who she was referring to specifically, she added: “I chose to post it here. Because I’m going crazy. When is enough?”

Written originally on a notes app, the royal shared that she has been making notes for the past six years, adding that she is now in a “thought experiment”.

Speaking of the Norwegian Royal Family, royal expert Erik Mustad told Aftenposten: “I find this sad to read. I can understand that this is a very difficult situation for the royal family, but it is sad that she has to resort to Instagram to make this.

“The family is undoubtedly under a lot of pressure, but at the same time, a lot of it is self-inflicted by her mother and her half-brother.

“When you write to that many people on Instagram, it’s not private. You can’t just throw things out like this and think it won’t be made public.”

Ingrid shares their mother with Marius. Haakon, Crown Prince of Norway married Mette-Marit, Crown Princess of Norway in 2001.

Ingrid also has a younger brother, Prince Sverre Magnus of Norway, who was born in 2005.
