Sainsbury’s launches amazing festive feast for six for just £13.31 | UK | News

Sainsbury’s has announced a “brilliant value” festive feast set priced at just £13.31. The retail giant has entered the Christmas dinner war with an offer for six, which includes turkey, sprouts, spuds and trimmings.

It works out at £2.21 per head, which is pricier than Aldi and Lidl’s alternatives. Both budget supermarkets are charging £11.85 for their Christmas dinner set for eight people, which comes to £1.48 per person. However, Sainsbury’s has a vegetarian option too.

It’s a traditional feast for meat-eaters consists of a Sainsbury’s standard small turkey (2.995kg at £3 per kg, £8.99 at Nectar prices, 1kg of Sainsbury’s carrots at 15p, Sainsbury’s Brussels sprouts 500g pack at 15p, the same amount and price for parsnips at Nectar prices and 2kg of own brand white potatoes for 15p also at Nectar prices.

Also included in the price are Sainsbury’s Butcher’s Choice 12 pigs in blankets 260g for £2.50 at Nectar prices, Sainsbury’s gravy granules for meat 170g at 62p (Aldi price match) and Sainsbury’s sage and onion stuffing mix 170g for 45p, also price matched with Aldi.

The veggie option for £13.82 (£2.30 per person) includes Plant Pioneers Meat Free Wellington at £8.50, Pups in Blankets for £3.50, 1kg of Sainsbury’s carrots for 15p, Sainsbury’s Brussels sprouts for 30p, Sainsbury’s parsnips at 15p and its white potatoes for 15p. All at Nectar prices.

It also includes Sainsbury’s vegetable gravy granules at 62p and sage and onion stuffing mix at 45p, which are both Aldi Price Match promos.

Sainsbury’s said it worked with UK farmers on the offer, pledging that the savings on those products came without compromising the price paid to producers.

It added: “This ensures customers can enjoy outstanding value while maintaining our unwavering commitment to quality and fairness for our farmers and suppliers.”

Rhian Bartlett, chief commercial and sustainability officer at Sainsbury’s, said delivering “brilliant value, trusted quality and outstanding service” was more important than ever.

She added: “This year, we’ve put together unmissable deals designed to make hosting easy and affordable. Through Nectar Prices and Aldi Price Match, we’re providing easy ways for everyone to save.”

Ms Bartlett said the supermarket is committed to making sure nobody has to compromise on this year’s Christmas feast.
