Those heading to Morrisons to shop between now and April 24 are eligible to save 10% of their shopping weekly every Friday when they spend at least £40 or more — and all you need to do is check one simple eligibility criteria.

Thanks to the UK supermarket chain’s latest partnership with Blue Light Card, shoppers can get sizable discounts on the weekly deal.

The offer runs every Friday until April 24 and all Blue Light Card holders need to do — meaning those working or retired from the emergency services, NHS, social care sector, teaching community or armed forces — is redeem the discount code through their Blue Light Card app.

The savings deal arrives at a time when the price of everyday groceries and shopping keeps climbing due to the ongoing rise in the UK’s cost of living.

Recent research from Which? reveals the cost of a typical weekly shop at Morrisons totals to roughly £187.65.

Blue Light cardholders with access to this exclusive offer can save approximately £18.77 at one time – which could amount to a substantial £131.39 by the time the offer ends.

Morrisons is the UK’s fifth-largest supermarket chain and was founded in 1899 by William Morrison. Rising from humble beginnings, Morrisons initially kicked off as an egg and butter stall in Bradford’s Rawson Market.

Up until 2004, the supermarket’s stores were largely focused within the North of England, however, that same year saw a takeover by Safeway which led to the company’s presence increasing significantly in Wales, Scotland and the South of England.

Morrisons has previously teamed up with Blue Light Card to provide similar discounts and shoppers can also visit the Blue Light Card website to discover more about currently available discounts.

Morrisons also rewarding select drivers with extra More points

There are other changes afoot at Morrisons currently. The supermarket chain recently unveiled a significant change across its car parks to reward certain motorists.

The British supermarket has teamed up with Motor Fuel Group (MFG) to reward electric vehicle drivers, offering them additional Morrisons More points when they charge their EVs at one of its car parks.

This new initiative was launched over this past weekend, with EV drivers earning 5 More Points for every £1 spent, redeemable at any Morrisons supermarket.

In total, Morrisons operates 497 supermarkets and over 1,700 Morrisons Daily convenience and franchise stores.

MFG announced it will also be investing £105 million in upgrading Morrisons’ forecourts as part of the partnership. MFG plans to install an additional 250 ultra-rapid charging bays across Morrisons forecourts this year, it has stated.
