A Stoke-on-Trent College spokesman said: “Early this morning, a distressed member of the public entered the college’s Cauldon site prior to students arriving on campus.
“In line with our safeguarding procedures, police were contacted to ensure the situation was managed safely and appropriately. As a precaution, access to the college buildings were temporarily restricted while the incident was resolved.
These measures were taken to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of our staff and students. Police attended promptly, provided support to the individual and escorted them from the premises. The college opened as normal from 9am. We would like to thank the emergency services and our staff for their swift response.”
