Netflix subscribers have just weeks to watch what has been branded as one of the best movies ever. The streaming platform is letting go of some favourites by the end of this year, including a masterpiece that has been loved by generations.
Jaws, which boasts an impressive 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, will soon be leaving the streaming platform, leaving fans with a limited amount of time to watch the thriller. The Netflix synopsis of the 1975 classic reads: “Amity Island has everything a vacationer could ask for: sunny skies, warm sand, gentle surf. Just ignore the massive fin racing hungrily toward you.”
Jaws is a film that is loved across generations, and despite being released half a century ago, it remains highly praised by both critics and viewers.
One fan on Rotten Tomatoes wrote: “Jaws is a masterclass in suspense, drama, acting, horror, and action, with its wonderfully likeable characters from Roy Schindler and Richard Dryfess, genuine scares from the shark, and the heart-pounding – and hope-filled music by John Williams.”
Similarly, another said: “An absolute masterpiece, a perfect movie.”
The two-hour and four-minute film is one that must be watched, particularly for those who enjoy a good thriller. It is one that you can “never get tired of seeing”, according to one fan who has seen it around 100 times.
Jaws has been named a masterpiece by numerous fans who have rated the thriller five stars.
Top critics have also praised the film.
St. Louis Post-Dispatch wrote: “Jaws will make you go home and burn your bathing suits and stay away from the tub. But don’t stay away from the film. It’s a real blockbuster, alive with drama and excitement.”
