The Middleton family out in full force to support Princess Kate after challenging year | Royal | News

The Princess of Wales‘s family was out in full force tonight to support the royal during her annual Together at Christmas Carol service in London after what has been a challenging year.

Carole and Michael Middleton, Princess Kate’s parents, were joined by James Middleton and his wife, Alizee Thevenet, and sister, Pippa Middleton, at tonight’s glittering event, which took place at Westminster Abbey.

The family were seen entering the church before the carol service began.

Carole looked elegant in a white midi coat and black heels, while  Pippa dazzled in a sparkling black long coat, which she paired with velvet burgundy pumps. Alizee looked equally stylish in a velvet black suit with a white bow and maroon Mary Janes.

The men looked dapper, with dad Michael sporting a navy suit and navy coat and James also donning a military-style navy coat.

Princess Kate beamed tonight as she welcomed her 1,600 guests at her annual carol concert.

It was her first major solo event following her cancer diagnosis earlier this year.

The future Queen is currently making a gradual return to public events after completing her cancer treatment around four months ago.

The princess had travelled ahead of her family to meet the celebrities who were taking part and personally thanked them for their time.

It is the fourth time the princess has held her event at Westminster Abbey in celebration of the positive qualities found in many and to bring festive cheer to the capital and associated events around the country.

Celebrity performers included Richard E Grant, Paloma Faith and Gregory Porter, with Sir Chris Hoy giving a reading for the guests who have supported others, whether friends or family, helped individuals through their work or volunteered.
