Vanessa Trump, the girlfriend of Tiger Woods, has posted on social media for the first time since the golf legend was arrested after crashing his car. Last week, the 50-year-old was involved in a rollover crash in Martin County, Florida last Friday. He was subsequently arrested and charged with driving under the influence, property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test.

Woods, who was not injured in the crash, spent eight hours locked up before being released. Having pleaded not guilty to the charges against him, he was granted permission to leave the United States to attend an international rehabilitation facility. Woods has also stepped away from golf indefinitely to focus on his overall wellbeing.

Trump, who has been dating Woods for around 12 months and is the former wife of Donald Trump Jr, took to Instagram on Friday for the first time since her boyfriend’s crash.

Sharing a memory of the couple together in happier times, Trump accompanied the image with two red hearts and the caption: “Love you.”

According to the Daily Mail, the 48-year-old has been pushing Woods to find the best possible care in a bid to end the troubles which have plagued his life away from golf.

It comes after police released extraordinary bodycam footage showing Woods’ arrest and subsequent journey to the station in the back of a police car.

In one clip, he is heard telling officers that he had been speaking on the phone with Donald Trump, the former father-in-law of his girlfriend.

Asked how much he had to drink, Woods replied: “None.” When quizzed if he was on any medication, he said: “I take a few, yes,” before explaining that he had taken it all earlier that morning.

Recalling the details of the crash, Woods said: “Looked down at my phone and then all the sudden, boom.” Officers were also seen checking the golfer’s back for any signs of injury.

The other motorist caught up in the collision was questioned by officers: “Who hit him?” Gesturing towards Woods, they responded: “He hit me.”

Further footage showed Woods, dressed in a blue polo shirt, appearing to doze off in the rear of a police vehicle. Authorities confirmed that he passed a breathalyser test but declined to provide a urine sample and admitted to taking painkillers.

Woods later issued a statement, which read: “I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today. I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health.

“This is necessary in order for me to prioritise my wellbeing and work toward lasting recovery. I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally.

“I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.”
