Tom Parker Bowles gives huge insight into King Charles cancer battle | Royal | News

Tom Parker Bowles has dropped a huge hint about King Charle’s cancer diagnosis as he revealed that the King had cut down a number of his favourite foods from his diet. Queen Camilla’s son, a food critic, has said that the King has stopped eating as much red meat – despite being a keen champion for British meat.

King Charles exact kind of cancer has never been disclosed but he hoped that by sharing his diagnosis, his story will resonate with all cancer sufferers. Now, in an interview with Saga magazine, Tom has said that the Queen has also cut down on lamb, beef and pork.

He said King Charles was “looking again at what, and when, he eats” after “what he’s been through recently”.

Adding: “I’m no nutritionist, but I know that food is part of a body’s “medicine”. It knows when it’s having the right stuff.”

The Scottish Daily Express reports that there have been suggestions some types of cancer, especially bowel cancer, can be caused by eating too much red meat although the evidence is uncertain. Red and processed meat has also been linked to an increased risk of cancer in the colon and prostate.

Cancer Research UK states: “Red meat is classed as a probable cause of cancer. This means there is lots of good evidence of a link between eating red meat and some types of cancer, but we need a few more of the best quality studies to be certain.”

In contrast, experts have confirmed that eating too much processed meat increases the risk of cancer. Cancer Research UK states: “We know for definite that processed meat is a cause of cancer. We are as sure of this link as we are for other proven causes of cancer, like tobacco and alcohol.”

Buckingham Palace has never revealed what cancer the King is suffering from.
