TV host ‘excited’ over Prince Harry interview but distances herself from Meghan | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

A body language guru has given Express.co.uk an exclusive verdict on how presenter Jane Pauley reacted to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on their CBS Sunday Morning interview.

Inbaal Honigman, who was speaking on behalf of Spin Genie, claims that Pauley appeared to have been placing a “mental distance” between herself and Meghan. On the other hand, he believes that she was much more “affectionate” with Harry.

He told us of the conversation, which touched on mental health: “Jane Pauley’s facial expressions when chatting with the royal pair are especially notable, as she appears to respond to Harry very differently to how she responds to Meghan. When listening to the Prince, she is seen smiling towards him with her lips parted, which makes the smile affectionate.

“Her eye contact with him is constant, so she’s listening to what he has to say.” He added that Pauley appeared to be having an emotional reaction to difficult experiences discussed by Harry.

“Her eyebrows come together to indicate worry, owing to the delicate subject matter, and this tells us that the seasoned presenter is taking it all in,” he explained. “When Meghan talks, however, Pauley blinks slowly, which can be a blocking gesture, trying to place a mental distance between herself and the person she’s talking to – in this case, Meghan.

“Pauley also gazes away, separating herself from the conversation, and even raises her eyebrows at one point which can even come across as sarcastic.”

He continued: “Then Harry interjects – and the presenter excitedly points her finger at him, making Harry the centre of the conversation again.

“Jane Pauley’s body language makes her appear to value Harry’s views and answers, but not Meghan’s.”

During the interview – their first one together since 2021 – the pair discussed initiatives to end cyberbullying.

They introduced The Parents Network, which has been set up in recognition of the support needed by families whose children were lost to suicide following online bullying attempts.

Meghan discussed her own experience of having suicidal thoughts during the interview too.

“When you’ve been through any level of pain or trauma, I believe part of our healing journey – certainly part of mine – is being able to be really open about it,” she stated.

“I really scraped the surface on my experience, but I do think that I would never want someone else to feel that way and I would never want someone else to be making those sort of plans and I would never want someone else to not be believed.”
