Stunned shoppers watched in horror as a violent confrontation unfolded at a retail centre, which saw one man allegedly attack another with scissors. The incident took place at the Priory Shopping Centre, in Dartford, Kent, yesterday.

In videos shared on X, formerly Twitter, shoppers can be seen walking by and watching the scene. Kent Police said a man suffered injuries to his head and finger. A spokesperson for the force told Express.co.uk: “Kent Police is investigating allegations of an assault at the Priory Shopping Centre in Dartford, on Thursday March 27, 2025.

“It is reported that at around 12.40pm a suspect armed with scissors injured another man. The suspect was restrained by security staff and was arrested by attending police officers shortly after.

“The victim was taken to hospital for wounds to his head and finger.

“Bassan Biro, 24, of Gillingham High Street, was later charged with attempted wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon, and affray.

“He was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday, March 28.”

The Priory Shopping Centre is close to a large Sainsbury’s store and the centre of Dartford. Express.co.uk has contacted the shopping centre for comment.
