Wales manager Craig Bellamy makes decision on taking Celtic job | Football | Sport

Wales boss Craig Bellamy has categorically ruled himself out of contention for the vacant managerial position at Celtic. Despite being seen as a top candidate for the role at Parkhead, Bellamy is fully committed to his duties with the Welsh national team.

In response to the speculation, he stated: “I can understand the links. I played there. But to me, I love what I’m doing at the present time. I’m completely focused on what’s set to come.

“That’s all I’m focused on. It’s cliched but I couldn’t want anything else. It isn’t on my radar and it won’t be on my radar.”

This announcement comes shortly after Noel Mooney, the chief executive of the Welsh FA, issued a stern warning to the Scottish champions. He reminded them that Bellamy is under contract until 2028 and is only thinking about qualifying for the upcoming World Cup.

Mooney said: “He’s a year and a bit into the job of a four-year contract and we’re completely focused on going to the World Cup next year.”
