West Wing actor’s mugshot released amid child abuse claims | US | News

The mugshot of Emmy winning actor accused of child sex abuse, Timothy Busfield, has been released. The West Wing star handed himself in to authorities to face the charges on Tuesday, January 13.

Busfield, 68, is facing allegations that he inappropriately touched a minor on the set of a TV series he was directing. A warrant was issued for his arrest by authorities in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Friday, January 9 on two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse.

It has been alleged that the acts occurred on the set of the series of The Cleaning Lady, which was filmed in Albuquerque.

Police have now released a mugshot of Busfield as they continue to investigate the claims. A video obtained by US media alleges that as the father of three was at the police station he insisted: “”I did not do anything to those little boys”.

Busfield, most well known for his role as senior White House Correspondent Danny Concannon in The West Wing between 1999 and 2006, allegedly groomed the boys on the set of The Cleaning Lady, in which he starred and directed. However, he denies these allegations.

A copy of the warrant obtained by US news claims that Busfield touched one boy, aged seven, three times on his private areas over his clothes. According to the warrant the Field of Dreams and Thirtysomething star then touched the boy five or six times when he was eight-years-old.

The youngster reportedly didn’t report the alleged abuse because he feared Busfield — who he apparently called “Uncle Tim” — would get mad. According to The Sun US a second boy also claimed that the actor touched him over two years as he worked on the show that ran until 2025.

These allegations claim that the abuse occurred between November 2022 and spring 2024. The complaint continues to alleged that Busfield also kissed the child on the face as he got a haircut in the hair and makeup trailer.

The boys’ mum made a report to social services in October 2025.

A social worker allegedly documented him saying he has nightmares about Busfield touching him.
