A woman has shared how she was left blown away after taking a strimmer to her backyard and being shocked by what she found underneath.
As lovely as it is to have a garden, finding the time to keep it neat and tidy enough to actually enjoy can be very time-consuming. Plus, an overgrown lawn isn’t just unsightly, but will eventually lead to an area riddled with weeds and insects that can cause irreversible damage to the soil.
This is the struggle Leanne Edwards, a mum of two from Greater Manchester found when it came to the lawn area behind her house.
Fed up with her children not being able to play outside, she decided to enlist the help of generous TikTok gardener @gardenyardzmowing1982, who often provides his services to those in need free of charge.
Sharing the transformation story on TikTok, she wrote: “[I] can not thank this man enough he’s made a garden for me and my partner and my kids to play safely. [He’s] helped me I’m forever grateful. This garden has been bad news in my life but now this is where my kids can play. Thankyou ever so much.”
Prior to the makeover the small space was completely overgrown with weeds and grass, covering up the ground almost entirely. It was completely unsuitable for young children to be able to play in or for Leanne and her partner to be able to relax in.
In the video, the man behind the strimmer got to work on stripping back the foilage and surprised everyone by revealing a gorgeous patio path winding its way down the entire length of the garden. He captioned the clip: “Unearthed walkway Found.”
People watching the video were thrilled with the results and rushed to comment on how satisfying the end results were. One person responded: “Wow all hidden well done your fab!”
In addition, Leanne replied to the post, writing: “U helped me more than you know x.”
It’s not the first time Garden Yardz Mowing has helped someone in need. Earlier this year he revealed how a 98-year-old woman from Manchester was given an eye-watering quote of £400 to have her tiny front garden tidied up — and had no choice but to turn the service down.
He captioned the heart-warming post, which has amassed more than 2.2 million views: “98-year-old woman was quoted £400 for a garden tidy up, so I did it for free.” Thousands of viewers flocked to the comments section to hail the kind act, with many blasting the gardener who quoted a high price for such a small job.
