In a heartfelt message, Prince Harry recorded a good luck video that was shown to Paralympian, Scott Meenagh, at the Paralympics at Milano Cortina 2026. In the middle of an interview with Channel 4, Scott was handed a phone that had a long message recorded from Harry. Picking up the phone, Scott said: “There’s a familiar face!”

Beaming in the video, Prince Harry said: “Alright, big lad! Alright Scotty mate. H here. Just want to say a huge congratulations. You’re carrying our flag. Wow. Wow, that’s huge. Huge huge respect mate. Congrats. I hope you’re really happy. I hope you can feel proud of where you’ve got to.

“Now all you need to do is smash the PBs (personal bests). Get a medal if you want, and most importantly, have fun. Just thinking back to the 2014 Invictus Games, I think one or two others since then in 2017, a standout moment was your running blade broke and you carried on. You didn’t let it stop you. I think you even finished second place.”

Prince Harry continued: “That was such a true example of your spirit and determination. Throughout your recovery process you have never faltered. You have pushed through on every single element and look at where you are now. Well done you.

“You are a fantastic example to everybody. So yeah, go out there, show people what you’re made of. Show every single time you go out there and do what you do, you’re inspiring so many other people. Thank you for being you. Cheers mate.”

Prince Harry then saluted at the camera and winked. Fans have also rushed to comment on the video, writing: “Good luck Scott!!! You can do it. Such an inspiration. And love your message from you pal H!!! Brilliant.”

Another said: “How nice is that.”

Scott Meenagh is a British para Nordic skier and former British Army soldier. In 2011, he was serving with the 2nd Battalion Parachute Regiment in Afghanistan when he stepped on an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), which led to him losing both of his legs.

The 36 year old, who will be a flagbearer at the Opening Ceremony alongside Menna Fitzpatrick, has announced it will be his final Paralympics after juggling fatherhood, a degree and intensive training camps for the past four years.

Speaking of his journey, he previously said: “My two kids are my number one supporters, but they’re at a really crucial stage in their life where I’m ready to be their biggest fan,” he said of four-year-old daughter Bryn and son James, two.

“I want to spend time being unapologetically ambitious with my goals. I want to show them that dreams are worth chasing, no matter how big they are. But there comes a point when I want to stand back and let them dream bigger than I could ever have imagined.”
