It is exactly a year since the Supreme Court gave its ruling on biological sex, confirming what we all know. That a man is a man and a woman is a woman. Simple. If you are born a man, then you will be a biological male for the rest of your life. Public institutions, workplaces, education facilities must all reflect this ruling and ensure that safe spaces exist to protect women from sexual assault. Yet Bridget Phillipson the Minister for the equality and safety of women has done nothing to issue the guidance necessary for institutions and businesses to act upon.
The guidance necessary to give them the go-ahead to ensure that they provide women only toilets, women only changing facilities, and that biological men cannot get access to intimidate, threaten, assault or rape women in the workplace or in public spaces. The Equalities and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) prepared the guidance necessary to enact the Supreme Court ruling. We now hear that Bridget Phillipson has instructed them to soften their guidance to be more inclusive for trans people. This is a betrayal once again by the Government of the safety of women and girls.
If there’s one thing more shameful than a female minister failing to protect fellow women, it’s a Prime Minister who never fails to remind us of the importance of the rule of law while totally ignoring a crystal clear judgement issued by the highest court in the land.
Bridget Phillipson clearly cares more about pandering to the powerful trans lobby than acting on this ruling and providing safe spaces for women and girls.
These are the same trans activists that incite violence by encouraging dangerous groups like Bash Back to intimidate and threaten Members of Parliament like me, who speak out on these issues. Why when this group calls so publicly for violence does this government not instruct the police to arrest these vile individuals?
Women are under threat everywhere by trans men having access to their personal space. From changing rooms to female prisons, women are at risk until this government stands up for us and protects us.
