President Donald Trump unexpectedly announced a last-minute schedule alteration on Tuesday, mere hours after completing a three-hour medical examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center – his fourth publicly disclosed health check-up during his second term.
“Based on the possible bad weather conditions tomorrow, we will be having our Cabinet Meeting in the White House, and will be postponing the Cabinet trip to Camp David,” Trump posted on his Truth Social media platform early Tuesday evening.
Camp David is situated in Maryland, where forecasts predict sporadic light rain with an approximate probability of 20% to 35% from late morning through to evening, according to Google Weather.
Ordinarily, the White House’s Office of Communications handles the dissemination of the president’s daily itinerary to journalists and issues notifications regarding any modifications, whether weather-related or otherwise.
For Trump personally to announce a schedule modification citing “bad weather” was relatively uncommon.
The announcement arrived just hours after the 79 year old president underwent another medical examination, placing his health back under intensified public examination following his efforts to dispel concerns surrounding his age and physical endurance.
The White House described Trump’s examination as routine preventive medical and dental check-ups. The visit comes as he seeks to project an image of strength ahead of midterm elections that will put his influence with voters to the test, according to The Associated Press.

In a social media post following the appointment, Trump declared that he had just completed his “6 month physical” and that “Everything checked out PERFECTLY.”
The White House did not immediately publish a written report from Trump’s physicians.
For decades, administrations have released selected findings from presidential health examinations, offering the public a degree of insight into the commander-in-chief’s wellbeing. However, the results are filtered through the White House and require the president’s approval before release, prompting questions over what information the public is and is not privy to.
Trump, a Republican, turns 80 next month and holds the distinction of being the oldest person ever elected as U.S. president. His immediate predecessor, President Joe Biden, a Democrat, was 82 when he departed office, having withdrawn from the 2024 presidential race amid widespread concerns that he was too old to fulfil the demands of the role.

A Washington Post/ABC News/Ipsos poll carried out in April revealed that fewer than half of American adults believe Trump possesses the mental sharpness or physical fitness to serve effectively as president.
“I think concern for the president’s physical health is probably at an all-time high, and I think advanced physical age is the No. 1 concern,” said Dr. Jeffrey Kuhlman, who served as a White House physician for more than a decade under Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton.
For a president of Trump’s age, a thorough physical examination would typically be expected to encompass advanced cardiac testing, screening for prevalent cancers and a cognitive evaluation, alongside fundamental checks such as height, weight and blood pressure, Kuhlman said.
The White House has not revealed what the appointment involved but conveyed assurance in what the results will demonstrate.

“President Trump is the sharpest and most accessible President in American history who is working nonstop to solve problems and deliver on his promises, and he remains in excellent health,” White House spokesperson Davis Ingle said in a statement.
Last month, a statement from more than 30 neurologists, psychiatrists and other medical experts – who acknowledged they’ve never examined him – said Trump was mentally unfit to serve and warned of an “increasingly dangerous decline” in his behaviour based on what they called “objectively observable signs of serious medical concern.′′
