Tributes have poured in after the former MP, MEP and Brexit champion Ann Widdecombe passed away aged 78.

Having served as the Conservative MP for Maidstone in Kent from 1987 to 2010, Widdecombe was known across the country having once been on the TV Strictly Come Dancing.

She also wrote for this paper as a Daily Express columnist, where she often wrote of her desire to see the UK out of the European Union.
