Morrisons makes major change to deliveries for hundreds of UK stores | Personal Finance | Finance

Morrisons is rolling out a major expansion of its home delivery service, giving shoppers across hundreds more convenience stores in England and Wales access to rapid grocery deliveries.

The supermarket has announced it is extending its partnership with grocery delivery platform Snappy Shopper, allowing customers at hundreds of additional Morrisons Daily stores to order groceries directly through the app.

The expanded service will give shoppers access to Morrisons Daily’s full convenience range, including everyday essentials, Morrisons Savers products, own-brand groceries and multibuy offers.

Customers who spend more than £35 will also qualify for free delivery.

Orders will continue to be fulfilled by Nash, while JetGo will remain the preferred last-mile delivery partner.

The latest rollout follows strong demand from customers already using the service, with Morrisons revealing orders placed through the partnership currently average £31.

The supermarket said the expansion forms part of its wider digital growth plans and is designed to make shopping more convenient for customers while increasing the visibility of Morrisons Daily stores on the Snappy Shopper platform.

The partnership will also enable participating Morrisons Daily stores to fulfil orders placed through the Foodhub platform, offering shoppers another way to have groceries delivered directly to their homes.

Snappy Shopper chief executive Mike Callachan said the expansion reflected the success of the partnership so far.

“We’re delighted to continue expanding our partnership with Morrisons Daily as we roll out across hundreds of stores throughout its convenience estate,” he said.

“The expansion reflects the strong performance of the partnership to date and our shared ambition to make fast, reliable grocery delivery available to even more customers.

“By combining Morrisons Daily’s trusted convenience offering with Snappy Shopper’s technology, we’re helping retailers grow online while providing shoppers with greater choice and convenience.”

Morrisons Group Online Director Charlotte Exell said the move would make it easier for households to access groceries without leaving home.

“We’re pleased to expand our Snappy Shopper partnership across our Morrisons Daily stores, making it even easier for customers to shop with us,” she said.

“This rollout gives households in England and Wales even more convenient ways to get fresh food and groceries from Morrisons delivered straight to their door.”

The next phase of the rollout is expected to be completed by August, bringing the rapid delivery service to hundreds more Morrisons Daily locations across England and Wales.
