Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor would use a one-word command to belittle staff, a royal expert has claimed. The disgraced royal has faced a significant downfall due to his association with convicted paedophile Jeffery Epstein, and allegations of sexual assault against him by one of Epstein’s victims, the late Virginia Giuffre
King Charles formally stripped his brother Andrew of his titles in October 2025 and had him moved out of the Royal Lodge. Despite denied sexual assault allegations on multiple occasions, the ex-prince’s reputation remains tarnished.
Aside from his bizarre friendship with Epstein, the disgraced royal has long been known for his arrogance and has previously been described as rude and entitled.
And in historian and author Andrew Lownie’s updated version of his book Entitled, he makes mention of the former prince’s alleged behaviour towards royal staff, when he once had some sort of authority.
Addressing how Andrew would speak to staff, Mr Lownie writes: “If he passed you in the corridor, you had to stop mid-walk and curtsey, and if he thought it was insufficient, he’d stand over you saying ‘LOWER’ and make you repeat the curtsey until he was satisfied.”
The book focuses on the life of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and former wife Sarah Ferguson, exploring the pair’s childhood, marriage, divorce, and financial scandals. And of course, their relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
While the limelight focused on Andrew’s friendship with the paedophile, Fergie’s reputation also took several hits as it was also revealed that she was personally associated with the criminal.
Mr Lowie mentions Sarah and Epstein’s close relationship in his book, alluding to her alleged desire to marry Epstein, as a friend of his alleges that Sarah wanted to marry someone in America who was “wealthy and powerful”.
The Epstein files also exposed multiple emails between the pair, with one sent to Epstein that reads: “You are a legend. I really don’t have the words to describe, my love, gratitude for your generosity and kindness. Xx I am at your service. Just marry me.”
Appearing in The Epstein Files does not automatically indicate wrongdoing.
