A house has collapsed after a large fire spread through several homes and garages in Chicago. Around three properties were seen alight in the 4700-Block of W Fulton Avenue in West Garfield Park, on the city’s west side.
Disturbing footage from the scene shows multiple homes on fire, including one that is believed to have collapsed. One of the houses reportedly collapsed at around 9:30am CDT (3:30pm BST in the UK).
Images shared online show smoke filling the sky above the city.
Due to the burning blaze a number of bus routes have been diverted. A spokesperson for Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) said: “Cicero buses are temporarily rerouted in both directions via Cicero, Washington, Laramie, Chicago, then resume their normal route on Cicero.”
