Kaleb Cooper has become a household name thanks to his appearance on Clarkson’s Farm and his rapport with boss and pal Jeremy Clarkson. But Kaleb Cooper has shared how he actually made the plunge and joined the show – and his hilarious response when asked.

The star explained that Cheerful Charlie, Charlie Ireland from Clarkson’s Farm, who is a land agent and agronomist, approached him, and said they needed a contractor to look after the farm, as Howard had “given up now”.

Charlie asked: “Will you come on as a contractor for two months until Jeremy takes the farm on?”

Hilariously, Kaleb’s four-word response was: “Back the f*** up,” because he felt like he’d missed something when he was given this information.

“What did you just say?” he remembered he said at the time, because he was gobsmacked.

Charlie asked again if he would “come on as a contractor,” and Kaleb said, “No, that’s fine, I’ll come on as a contractor, but what’d you say after that?”

Next Charlie explained that Jeremy was taking the farm on, and Kaleb was not impressed by this, as he said: “No, he’s not. He can’t do that. No.”

But he was told it’s “his farm” so he can “do what he wants,” and Kaleb had to concede that this was actually the case.

“Now I looked after the farm for two months, and it was during this time that they were interviewing other people to play my role on Clarkson’s Farm,” he explained.

Kaleb continued: “But it wasn’t until the very last day that the director stopped me as I was going to pick my tractor up, and he said to me, ‘Kaleb, can you quickly pop up and see Jeremy in the office?’

And he said that was the first time you ever see him in Clarkson’s Farm series one.

Since then, he has won over audiences globally through his genuine passion for agriculture, unmatched work ethic, and endearing lack of a filter. Viewers love he’ll happily speak to Jeremy Clarkson as though they’re equals, despite Jeremy’s seniority and age difference.

Despite his youth, Kaleb has been farming since he was a teenager. He proves to audiences that he is a highly skilled, knowledgeable agricultural expert who actually runs his own successful contracting business.

Kaleb was just 21 years old when he first appeared on Clarkson’s Farm, and the now 25-year-old has just married his long-term partner, Taya, in a lavish wedding where boss Jeremy played a vital role.

He very kindly laid on an unlimited supply of his own Hawkstone beer and cider.
