He has four grown-up children, Lady Kitty, twins Lady Eliza and Lady Amelia, and Viscount Louis, from his marriage to model Victoria Lockwood. He then welcomed Edmund and Lara with his second wife, Caroline Freud.
He later married Karen Gordon in 2011, with their daughter, Lady Charlotte Diana, born in July 2012.
It has now been reported that some of his children found out about his fourth wedding through a text message.
A family friend told the Daily Mail: “They found out via a text.”
Charles tied the knot with Cat on May 15, reveaing the happy news on his personal Instagram account.
Alongside five pictures of the happy couple, who are also honeymooning in Arizona, the 62-year-old wrote: “15 May 2026 – the happiest day ever. A very close friend said to me, months ago: “The thing about Cat is, she’d want to be with you if you lived in a hut.”
He then added: “Little did I know she’d also be happy to marry me in a desert [green-cactus emoji].”
The late Princess of Wales’s brother is known to have had a strained relationship with his four eldest children, with him having not attended Lady Kitty Spencer’s wedding in 2021 and Lady Amelia Spencer’s wedding in 2023.
Ms Jarman herself has two sons from her previous marriage to Tom Jarman.
