The match, set to be held at Mexico’s iconic Estadio Azteca, was originally scheduled to be held at 1am UK time.
But weather forecasts in Mexico City suggest thunderstorms and heavy rain could hit at this time.
On Friday night, numerous reports indicated that the kick-off time would be brought forward to 7pm UK time – midday local time.
But reports from local Mexican media then suggested the kick-off time would be moved back to its original spot after the Mexican FA was reportedly unhappy with the change.
FIFA sources have now claimed to Sky Sports that, despite the confusion, no decision was ever taken to move the game.
FIFA will meet with local organisers in Mexico City on Saturday to further discuss the possibility of disruptions.
This means, as things stand, England’s game will take place at its original kick-off time of 1am (UK time).
FIFA’s weather reports currently warns that there is a 90% risk of lightning storms at the Estadio Azteca on Monday.
It adds that “lightning activity which may temporarily affect outdoor operations” and that match officials should “maintain readiness for lightning safety procedures.”
FIFA rules dictate that a game is immediately postponed if there is lightning within a six-mile radius of the stadium.
England midfielder Morgan Rogers said: “We’ll be ready regardless of the time…Earlier the better because you want to play.”
