England vs Norway LIVE: Team news leaked as World Cup match faces delays | Football | Sport

Harry Kane insists he is not the same player as Erling Haaland despite their mutual admiration for scoring goals.

Kane was asked to state who was the better striker ahead of England’s World Cup quarter-final against Norway and instead of answering, he took the chance to set the record straight on comparisons with the Manchester City marksman.

The 32-year-old said: “It’s an impossible one for me to answer, first of all, I think we are completely different players because I know we’re both seen as strikers but I think we play two completely different positions if I’m honest.

“Erling has been incredible, his goalscoring record, physically he’s a machine, he’s a beast and his finishing is at the highest level and his goalscoring record speaks for itself.

“I see myself as a different player, although I score the same goals, I like to maybe touch the ball a little bit more and be involved in play a little bit more but also, I can play as the out-and-out nine but I don’t think it’s one to compare ourselves.

“I respect him a lot as a player and a fellow professional, obviously I’m hoping that he has a quiet game tomorrow but I think his overall performances recently speak for themself, he’s a fantastic player.”
