The note, according to The New York Times reads: “They investigated me for months – FOUND NOTHING!!!’.
“It is a treat to be able to choose one’s time to say goodbye.
“Watcha want me to do – Bust out cryin!!’ It concludes with ‘NO FUN’, with those words being underlined, followed by ‘NOT WORTH IT!!”
The note was discovered following a failed suicide attempt in July 2019. The following month, he made another attempt which proved fatal, with Epstein dying by suicide inside his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Centre in New York City, aged 66.
The note was made public on Wednesday after The New York Times petitioned the court to unseal it.
Epstein’s cellmate Nicholas Tartaglione discovered the note in the aftermath of the failed attempt, and it subsequently became part of his own criminal case.
