The end of the Premier League season is rapidly approaching, with just three weekends of action left to play. We’re set for plenty of drama at either end of the table, given the title race, hunt for European and relegation battle all have things left to play for.
Arsenal lead the way with Manchester City in hot pursuit, while just 12 points separate fifth from 12th in the table. At the bottom, Tottenham will once again start the weekend in the relegation zone, and ahead of a crucial round of Premier League fixtures, Express Sport have detailed all of the latest injury news.
What a boost this could be to Arsenal’s title challenge. Bukayo Saka returned from injury last week and once again made a substitute cameo during the mid-week clash with Atletico Madrid. He’s unlikely to be fit enough for a start against Fulham, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t going to play a part.
Sticking with the league leaders, Jurrien Timber is still sidelined and has been since mid-match. Arsenal have been using Ben White during the Dutchman’s absence, but there is hope he could be back before the end of the Gunners’ season.
Liverpool fans would’ve had their hearts in their mouths when Mohamed Salah trudged off injured against Crystal Palace last weekend. The Egyptian is set to leave at the end of the season, with some fears that he’d already played his last game for the club. Liverpool confirmed they expect Salah to return before the final game of the season, but Sunday’s trip to Old Trafford might come too early.
Speaking of which, the hosts could be without Matheus Cunha, who missed the Monday night win over Brentford. The Brazilian had a hip injury, with Michael Carrick and co. likely to have a tense wait to see if he’ll be involved on Sunday.
There’s still no sign of the Chelsea captain. Reece James looked as if he’d overcome the injury woes that have plagued his career so far, but his last appearance came during a mid-March league match against Newcastle. Recently sacked boss Liam Rosenior had said he was a “little bit further away” than some of the Chelsea players who have recently returned from injury. The Blues play Nottingham Forest on Bank Holiday Monday and could certainly do with the dynamic right-back making a swift return.
