‘High value’ pawnbroker in administration – still has customers’ items | UK | News

A major pawnbroking loan provider has gone into administration and still has customer items as security. Eldens Finance Limited (Eldens) was put under the control of insolvency practioners from Antony Batty & Company Ltd on Monday, July 6, 2026, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) said.

Antony Batty and Hugh Jesseman were appointed as Joint Administrators. They’re responsible for winding down the company in an orderly way in the interests of its creditors. The FCA, which is supervising the administration process, flagged the news in a public notice on its website. According to the watchdog, Eldens “provided pawnbroking loans, primarily secured against high-value and luxury assets”.
