A girl was reportedly gang raped after being abducted by five suspects. Police have arrested two of the alleged attackers, while the remaining three remain at large.
It’s reported that the girl was kidnapped by a group of youths in a car before being taken to a house. She was then allegedly raped before being left unconscious. The attackers fled the scene while the victim was rushed to hospital. Police launched an immediate investigation before arresting two of the suspects. Meanwhile, the three other attackers are on the run, and officers are continuing to track them down.
As reported by ETV Bharat, the alleged attack took place in the city of Mansa in the Indian state of Punjab. The girl is believed to have been abducted by five youths before being raped.
After the girl, who works at a beauty parlour, failed to return home one evening, her family reported her missing. The force launched a search before finding her unconscious inside a house.
She was then rushed to the Civil Hospital for treatment and regained consciousness. Detectives then launched an investigation and arrested two suspects, and seized the car allegedly used in the attack.
They are continuing to work to track down the remaining three suspects and are appealing to the public for relevant information. Mansa DSP (Detective) Jaswinder Singh confirmed the five accused have been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Meanwhile, the girl’s family are demanding that the victims be brought to justice as soon as possible. It is unknown whether the girl remains in hospital or not.
