They’ve been enchanting children for more than 30 years and are still firm favourites in the nation’s toy boxes.
But as Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the rest of the gang return to the cinema for Toy Story 5, there are ways to bring the magic home without breaking the bank.
New research from Gumtree has revealed that families can save up to 74% by buying pre-loved – much like Andy’s toys in Toy Story 3 who were donated as he prepared to leave for university.
There are currently hundreds of Toy Story listings available on Gumtree, with some of the franchise’s most iconic characters available for a fraction of the cost of buying new.
Choosing pre-loved toys not only helps save money but also supports more sustainable shopping by keeping products in use for longer and reducing both waste and demand.
A pre-loved Buzz Lightyear figure sells for an average of just £13 on Gumtree compared to around £49.99 new, while Woody figures average £16 versus retail prices of up to £59.99. These are savings of up to 74% and 73% respectively.
Jessie the cowgirl can be found for £10, while a classic Mr Potato Head is just £7. Slinky can be found for £8 and Rex is £5.
