‘I met Queen Camilla – she would be like this with Archie and Lilibet’ | Royal | News

It was a rainy day in 2024, and I was a local journalist when I first met Queen Camilla. We were in Rye, and I was part of the media following Her Majesty around that day. From meeting local charities in a church to touring a National Trust property, it was all pretty spectacular.

However, it was the outside garden party that I will never forget. By that point, the sun had thankfully made an appearance, and everyone was just delighted to be there. And I saw a side of Queen Camilla that I never would have imagined from the reports of her over the years.

She was very calm and caring with them, helping them into their seats and keeping a watchful eye over them.

She took special care to listen to them and did not mind being asked for a photograph a few times.

In fact, she was just all-around caring. And I have no doubt that if she were like this with these two elderly actors, then she would be like this with young children, too.

I think she would listen to them talk, play games with them, and just all-around give them her undivided attention.

Archie and Lilibet, as the grandchildren of Camilla’s husband, King Charles, would be lucky to get to know Her Majesty.
