The M1 has experienced long traffic delays on Bank Holiday Monday evening following two separate crashes, affecting both northbound and southbound lanes. On the M1 northbound, there were several significant disruptions. Between J36 (Hoyland) and J37 (Barnsley), all lanes were closed due to an incident, with normal traffic having now resumed. Access at J36 northbound in Hoyland was also closed, with clearance occurring slightly earlier.
Northbound congestion is reported between J6A and J8 near Hemel Hempstead, with normal conditions expected between 11.15 pm and 11.30 pm on May 4. Additionally, a vehicle fire within J8 has closed all lanes, with normal traffic expected between 12.15am and 12.30am on May 5.
