Traffic on the M60 motorway is building after a car fire as highway cameras show long queues building near Whitefield.
Pictures from the scene show a vehicle engulfed in flames near the Whitefield exit this morning (Monday, May 11). Two lanes on the clockwise carriageway of the motorway have been closed between junction 16 for Pendlebury and junction 17 for Prestwich and Whitefield.
Traffic monitoring service Inrix reports that traffic is “very slow” approaching the incident, while motorway cameras show queues continuing to build.
An accident has ALSO been reported on the nearby M61. The northbound side is partially blocked junction 3 to junction 4.
