A major high street bank is offering customers £225 in cash and vouchers for doing one simple thing. Santander has confirmed that its £180 switcher offer has been extended for one week, with customers also able to snap up a £45 Amazon Voucher.
The offer is open to both new and existing customers and couldn’t be any more easy. All you need to do is switch to a Santander Everyday, Edge or Edge Up current account, and open a Regular Saver account. The savings account offers a high 8% interest rate, one of the highest on the market.
To ensure you get the freebie when switching, you must use the Current Account Switching Service (CASS). You will then need to set up two household direct debits and pay in at least £1,500 to the current account.
You will also be required to put at least £200 into the Regular Saver account within 30 days of opening. If you want to grab the £225, then you must be quick as the offer ends at 2pm on July 31.
The Spanish banking giant will also be paying eligible customers £829 in compensation as it confirms that it is participating in the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) redress scheme for mis-sold motor finance.
A Santander spokesperson said: “We have decided not to challenge the schemes and will now focus on their implementation.
“This was a finely balanced judgment reflecting our primary desire to bring greater certainty to our customers, shareholders, and the wider motor finance sector—factors which outweighed our disagreement with elements of the proposed schemes.”
The bank also said it will continue to work with regulators and policymakers to improve the competitiveness of the UK motor finance industry in the interest of investors and consumers alike.
