Meghan Markle issued dire PR warning over latest ‘risky move’ – ‘problematic’ | Royal | News

The memorial was hosted by the WHO and Archewell Philanthropies, the charitable foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, ahead of the 79th World Health Assembly.

It was also run in partnership with The Parents’ Network, a community of bereaved families advocating for safer online spaces for children and young people.

But Meghan’s impassioned speech and the effect it had on people could be jeopardised by her frenzied posting this week, according to a PR specialist.

On Tuesday, Meghan marked eight years of marriage with Harry by posting 24 previously unseen photos of the wedding ceremony and reception, along with several videos of the family celebrations in Montecito, California.

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet could be heard singing and cheering in the background as their dad brought an anniversary cake with candles on, as well as a gift to his wife – a penguin sculpture.

However, Brand and Culture expert Nick Ede thinks the timing of the social media posting spree was unfortunate.

He told the Daily Express: “Family content is incredibly powerful online because it creates emotional engagement, but it’s also risky when you’ve previously spoken publicly about privacy and protecting children from media exposure.”

He said the timing was “problematic” because her speech on children’s online safety had already brought the spotlight on her children, so showcasing them, even in a small glimpse, could backfire.

Mr Ede explained: “Speaking about children’s online safety and then almost immediately increasing the visibility of Archie and Lilibet, even indirectly, opened her up to accusations of hypocrisy.

“Fair or unfair, consistency is crucial in personal branding, and audiences notice contradictions instantly.”
