Meghan Markle let slip an unexpected detail about Prince Harry during a recent television appearance, revealing a quirk he shares with his estranged brother.
During a video call with her husband while filming for MasterChef Australia, the Duchess of Sussex discussed the contestants’ dishes with him.
She described all the participants as “amazing” and was particularly full of praise for a hot sauce crafted by one of the chefs. However, when mentioning the sauce to her husband, she suggested it might not be entirely suitable for him given its heat level.
Fans have been reacting to Meghan’s appearance on the programme, though the response has been far from unanimously positive.
The Duchess of Sussex told her husband, “There’s a hot sauce and, you know, it’s a sambal, and it is so good. I don’t know, I think it might be too much for you, though. It’s spicy.”
This revelation that Harry struggles with spicy foods and sauces may well resonate with royal enthusiasts familiar with Prince William, Harry’s estranged brother.
The Prince of Wales, 44, similarly finds overly spicy cuisine a challenge, suggesting this is very much a trait the two brothers have in common.
William himself confirmed this some years ago during an appearance alongside his wife, Kate Middleton, on Going Home with Vick and Jordan on Radio 1.

The Prince of Wales confessed on the radio programme, “I can’t do too much spice, I start sweating. It’s not attractive.”
Princess Catherine then observed, “Whereas I like the spice, so I have to sort of cook the curry and then add the spice, extra spice at the end.”
This suggests that while they may not be on speaking terms, William and Harry’s mutual aversion to spicy food remains something the brothers can relate to.
Likewise, both of their wives seem to favour spicy dishes, offering Meghan and Catherine some common ground they could potentially bond over.
A reconciliation between the two couples appears unlikely, though, with William and Kate choosing not to meet with the Sussexes when they returned to the UK earlier this month.
While the Prince and Princess of Wales avoided a meeting with Harry and Meghan, the Sussexes did bring their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to see King Charles and Queen Camilla.
The encounter is reported to have lasted around an hour, with details remaining closely guarded.
